Pune Bike Championship on Oct 20

The championship will involve a climb of 11 km to Lavasa.

Lifecycle Mall,India’s largest cycle mall,will organise the fifth edition of Lifecyle Pune Bicycle Championship on October 20 at Lavasa. The race will begin at 6.30 am.

The fourth edition was a resounding success with 227 participants taking part in nine

categories.

“We expect participation from the road racing community in addition to the MTB and Hybrid cyclists. We also have added an Under-18 category for budding cyclists who want to get racing exposure or just want to cycle for fun,” said Nachiket Joshi,the organiser of the event.

The event will be attended by supermodel Milind Soman .

Held twice a year on the ghats of Sinhagad Fort or on Lavasa ghat,the race is known across the country for being a challenging hill climbing race.

The races will be held in 12 categories,including men and women,youth,mountain terrain bike(MTB),open road bike, hybrid,seniors MTB. The championship will involve a climb of 11 km to Lavasa. The race route will be Andgaon village,base of Mhashoba Mandir to Lavasa Entrance Gate and the final Finish at Lavasa.

Registrations for the race are open at Lifecycle Mall. The last date for the registration and payment of the entry fee is October 18. A pre-ride briefing will be held at Lifecycle Mall on October 18 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
