Aundh mishap: 24-yr-old succumbs to her injuries

A 24-YEAR-OLD IT professional, who was seriously injured in an accident in which the bike she was riding pillion was hit by another bike on August 28 in Aundh, succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday. The police are yet to identify the biker with whom she was riding.

As per the information given by Chatushrungi police, the victim identified as Neetukumari Sheoran lived in Hinjewadi Phase-III. She was on her way to some work with her friend on August 28. Police said she was riding pillion.

Around 10.15 am, when the two were near Medipoint Hospital in Aundh, the bike was hit by another bike from behind after which Sheoran fell and sustained severe injuries.

Police said she was taken to a nearby hospital and later to Command Hospital. An FIR had been registered by her father Major Surendrasingh Sheoran, an Army officer.

Investigating officer API T S Bhogam of Chatushrungi police station said, “We are yet to identity the motorcyclist but we have started our investigation.”

11-year-old killed

In another accident on Wednesday morning, a boy, who was riding his bicycle in Hingnemala in Sasanenagar, was hit by a tractor. He succumbed to severe injuries. Hadapsar police have identified the victim as Lakhan Mali (11) who lived in Hingnemala. They have arrested driver of the tractor Sunil Pawar (19). PSI R J Ghuge is probing the case.
