Suryawanshi said that while questioning the truck driver, a group of six to seven persons came to the spot and started beating the driver. Suryawanshi asked the youths to stop. However, they manhandled him and one of them even slapped him, according to Suryawanshi.
Suryawanshi said, later, the youths pushed him to ground, took away the truck keys and also let the driver escape from the spot. Then the youths fled the spot. The mob gathered at the spot told Suryawanshi that Pappu Bansode’s son was among those who thrashed him. Suryawanshi then went to the Daund police station around 10.30 pm and informed his seniors and staff. Soon, the station house officer issued summons for Bansode and his son.
However, Bansode came to the police station and threatened Suryawanshi saying “nobody in Daund goes against him and that his 40 men are standing outside the police station”.
