Passengers were left stranded for yet another day as flight disruptions continued at Pune Airport on Saturday, with a total of 42 IndiGo flights cancelled including 14 arrivals and 28 departures. Long queues formed at the IndiGo counter as frustrated travellers waited for hours to retrieve their baggage, seek refunds, or understand the status of their rescheduled flights.

Irate passengers alleged their luggage had gone missing, or that the airline failed to provide timely communication about cancellations.

“They have lost our luggage. We are here for four hours just trying to get it. Our Ahmedabad to Pune flight (6E522) was two days ago. It’s so frustrating even they don’t know where our baggage is,” said Disha Shah, a traveller.
The chaos also cost important family events for some. “Our Pune to Varanasi flight (6E497) was on the 4th. It was first rescheduled and then cancelled, and now here we are. It was my cousin’s wedding we have missed that now,” said Raikishori Dey.

Uncertainty over upcoming flights pushed several passengers to physically visit the airport to confirm whether their journeys would go ahead. “My Pune to Tirupati flight is tomorrow (6E2486). I’m at the airport just to confirm whether it is still operating because the app is very unclear. I have around 14 senior citizens travelling with me. If they cancel at the last minute, it will be very problematic,” said Milind Punekar.

Some struggled to track down missing baggage for family members. “My parents’ Pune to Delhi flight (6E6409) was on Wednesday. They reached, but their luggage was lost. They had to go to Agra without it. We are here for three hours trying to get it. The crew is manually checking bags using PNR numbers. So many bags are just abandoned, it’s such chaos, ” said Ankita Johari.

Many passengers also claimed they received no prior intimation about cancellations. “I found out that my Pune to Chennai flight (6E6714) was cancelled only after reaching the airport. No mail from IndiGo, no message. I have a senior citizen with me, so now I’m trying to figure out alternate options,” said Nupur Shah.

Business travellers were left stranded as well. “My Pune to Ranchi flight (6E6484) was cancelled. I was here on a work trip and now I’m stuck in Pune. I have to book an expensive Air India Express flight to get home. They should at least provide hotel bookings or meals. Everyone is suffering,” said Swayanjeet Mishra.
