Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), which had earlier announced special tourist bus services from May 1 on seven routes connecting historic and religious places, has now reduced the ticket cost to Rs 500 for all the seven routes.
Earlier, of the seven services, the PMPML had announced to charge Rs 1,000 on five routes and 700 on two others.
Chief Transport Manager of the PMPML in a press statement said, “Considering the lukewarm response on the first two days of the service and feedback received on social media, the Chairman and Managing Director of the PMPML has decided to reduce the ticket cost and make it uniformly Rs 500.”
The transport body had made an announcement to start the religious tourism service to make its 16th anniversary special. The PMPML is using air conditioned buses and is available for booking on Saturdays, Sundays and on all public holidays.
Devotees from the city can visit religious places such as Ashtavinayak Ganpati temples at Mayureshwar Morgaon, Chintamani Theur, Mahaganapati Ranjangaon and Khandoba Jejuri temple and several other historic places.
The tourist buses are operational on the following seven routes:
- Hadapsar-Morgaon-Jejuri-Saswad-Hadapsar
- Hadapsar-Saswad- Sangameshwar Mandir-Prati Balaji Mandir (Ketkavale)- Baneshwar-Kondhanpur-Hadapsar
- Deccan-Kharawade Mhasoba Devsthan-Temghar Dharan- Nilkantheshwar Paytha- Deccan.
- Pune Railway Station-Khadakwasla Dam-Panshet Dam-Varasgaon Dam-Pune Railway Station
- Pune Railway Station-Pul Gate-Hadapsar-Ramdara-Theur Ganpati-Prayagdham-Hadapsar-Pune Railway Station
- Pune Railway Station -Wagheshwar Mandir-Wadebolhai-Tulapur Triveni Sangam-Chhatrapati Sambhaji Samadhi (Vadhu) -Ranjangaon Ganpati Temple-Pune Railway Station
- Bhakti Shakti Nigdi-Appughar-Iskcon Temple Ravet-Moraya Gosavi Temple (Chinchwad)-Prati Shirdi (Shirgaon)-Dehu Gaon-Gatha Mandir-Alandi-Bhakti Shakti Nigdi.
The buses have a seating capacity of 33 passengers. In case of group booking for the entire bus, 100 per cent discount will be given on five tickets. Booking for the services can be done at pass issuance centres of the transport body at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar Gaditalk, Bhosari, Nigdi and PMC Bhavan.
