The Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart starrer,’No Reservations’ playing on screen with Jones yelling at her restaurant staff and Eckhart snickering makes for an interesting foreground. In the background customers gorging on an all American menu, while watching the movie makes for a sharp contrast.

Walking in,into the Zikomo restaurant in Baner this is a normal scenario every Sunday afternoon. Launched three months back,Zikomo’s Sunday brunch Zikomoscope is an interesting affair. People come in for the brunch and the restaurant screens a movie. The menu is decided on the basis of the film being showcased. For instance,if it is ‘Sholay’,the menu comprises North-Indian food, but an American rom-com like ‘No Reservations’ will have an all American-diner spread. “The idea was to let customers have a different dining experience. We cannot say that the response has been overwhelming, but it has been good. People are curious about the concept,” says Swapnil Gupte, adding,”We wanted to create a cuisine and an ambiance around the film, which is being screened.”
