To combat the increasing problem of plastic pollution, eight former students of Sadhana Vidyalaya,Hadapsar in association with the academic advisor and Jal Biradari, started collecting plastic at the Mula-Mutha nallah at Hadapsar on June 2. The project saw 4,000 students from classes 5 to 9,collect plastic waste from the nallah every Sunday, with the objective of cleaning rivers around the city and to educate masses about the advantages of recycling. Pune is already facing tremendous problem of water pollution in Mula-Mutha river. The industrial waste, which takes 250 years to decompose,is accumulating day by day and is a threat to entire mankind.
