Akshata Parekh,from Nupra Bharatnatyam Dance Academy will perform her arangetram on Sunday,September 2 at Symbiosis International University,Viman Nagar. The arangetram marks a graduation in the study of Bharatnatyam. Parekh,who is a disciple of Guru Charmaine Ann Lazarus,will be exhibiting nuances of Bharatnatyam through nine dances which will be themed around Krishna and Natraj. She will also present special Gujrati and Marathi dance performances. This Shankarsheth Road resident has been learning Bharatnatyam for the past 10 years and had learnt Kathak for six years before that. Currently,she is in the third year of Journalism studies at a college in Mumbai.

A Soupy Affair

Godrej Nature’s Basket,a pioneer in gourmet food,is playing host to a ‘Soups from around the world’ festival for the month of August. As a part of this,they are all set to host a workshop at their Dhole Patil Road,where Chef Wilson and Chandra Shekhar Pandey ,Executive Chef at Courtyard Marriott will take the participants through a ‘Soup journey’. While Chef Michael Swamy will take the participants through a journey that talks about the origin,flavours,varietals from across the globe,Chef Chandra Shekhar Pandey will dish out unique soups from around the globe. Some of the exotic dishes that one can learn and experience are Roasted pumpkin and cheddar soup,Asian noodle soup,Watermelon Gazpacho on August 29,from 4.30 till 6.00 pm at the Nature’s Basket Dhole Patil store.
