Two goals each by Sudesh Thakur and Rahul Yalshetty helped Range Hills Young Boys pump five past a shaky Indrayani defence in the first division league match of the Peninsula Land PDFA League being held at the SSPMS football ground on Monday.

Range Hills started the game with a bang and took the lead in the fifth minute through Sudesh Thakur. Indrayani responded immediately through Valerian D’Souza in the eighth minute and the scores were level. The game was even at this stage and both teams had equal opportunities to score. Range Hills took the lead for the second time in the 23 rd minute through Sudesh Thakur again. Range Hills played out the rest of the eventful half, which ended 2-1.

Indrayani had a bright start to the second half when Shivprakash Mudliar scored for them in opening minute. Indrayani were then applying pressure on the opposition goal but could not make the most of their opportunities. Range Hills soon took the lead for the third time through Rahul Yalshetty. The Range Hills defender played an aerial ball over the defence straight to Yalshetty, who volleyed in a beauty. This goal followed a long spell of chances for Range Hills, but they failed to convert any.

Finally,it was Yalshetty who gave his team a two-goal cushion. He was put in on goal by his midfielder, after which he beat the keeper with ease. Range Hills added the icing on the cake in the last minute of the game when Saicharan Rajgopal slotted the ball past the keeper into the net. The match ended 5-2.
