One man was killed and three suffered serious injuries when the car they were travelling in rammed into a truck on Mumbai-Pune Expressway around 10.30 pm on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shailesh Pandurang Pawar (34) of Tingarenagar. Arvind Nivrutti Tingare (35),Prakash Laxman Gaikwad (34) and Rajesh Ganpat Palande were severely injured in the accident. According to police,the accident occurred while Pawar and his friends were returning from Mumbai after shopping.
The truck and the car were heading in the same direction. The truck had stopped at a fuel pump on the way,and while plying back on the road,it took a sudden turn to the middle lane. This resulted in the car ramming the truck from behind. While Pawar died on the spot,the others were rushed to a private hospital. Assistant sub inspector CB Dalvi is investigating the case.
