The CCTV cameras installed at Haveli tehsildar office have no backup system as per the reply by the office to

a RTI query by an education activist.

Matin Mujawar,an education activist of Shikshan Hakka Manch, had filed an application under RTI in June seeking details of all the CCTVs installed at the office.

“In the reply to an RTI query, the tehsildar office said they could not provide me the data as it was not available with them. They told me there are 16 CCTVs installed at the office and they have been there since 2010. But when I asked them about the back up,they informed me there was no such system,” said Mujawar.

Mujawar is now planning to file a second appeal with

the State Information Commission.

“After the German Bakery and JM Road blasts,it is high time officials understand the importance of CCTV camera backup. CCTVs installed at public places should have backup capacity of at least one month,” added

Mujawar.
