Popular American TV chat show host Jay Leno is also well known for having an exhaustive and impressive collection of automobiles. The newest addition to his fleet is Nano, the low (est)-cost Indian four-wheeler. To document the little car’s journey – from production to delivery at his garage, the TV host commissioned an “automobile minifilm”. The credits for the background score included rormer VJ,singer and occasional actor/anchor Sophie Choudry who has arranged the music for the minifilm. “It’s an honour to be a part of Jay Leno’s pet project and I’m glad that they used three of my songs for the film,” says Choudry. Apart from contributing to the music for the project,Choudry also dished out styling tips to Leno and got him to dress in a Sherwani, courtesy ‘best friend’,Delhi-based designer Manav Gangwani. “I suggested to their team they get Jay out of his usual denims and put him in a Sherwani for this episode. They loved the idea and later invited Manav Gangwani to design it,” says the singer-actor who says she looks forward to hosting the “television star” on his trip to India next year. “He arranged an Indian dance troupe in Los Angeles to welcome the car but I’ll be giving him a grand Indian welcome,” says Choudry.
