Once again it’s that time of the year when Pune,is all geared up to host the awaited Vasantotsav, the annual cultural extravaganza organised by the Vasantrao Deshpande Pratishthan. Vasantotsav was hosted for the first time in Mumbai in 2007 to mark the 25th death anniversary of Vasantrao Deshpande.

As Pt Bhimsen Joshi has rightly commented,“ Vasantrao was a versatile vocalist. His command over laya, tawa and sur,was amazing”. Vasantrao Deshpande was India’s most illustrious classical vocalist.
