The city police have cracked the murder case of a sweetmeat shop owner from Ravivar Peth. The dead body of Girish Hiralal Shah (40) was found near Taljai hillock on Saturday afternoon.
The police have arrested Sagar Parkhe (23) and Swapnil Ubhe (19) for allegedly murdering Shah. Police inspector Shailendra Shinde said that Shah after dinner on Friday night had left his house. When did not return,his family approached the police.
Meanwhile,the Sahakarnagar police found a dead body near Taljai hillock with stab wounds on his stomach and chest. He was identified from the driving licence found in his pocket.
During investigations,the police came to know that Vilas Parkhe had taken a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from Shah for his daughters marriage expenses. Shah had been demanding the money from Parkhes son Sagar since that last few months. Hence,Sagar and his friend Swapnil Ubhe (19) hatched a plan to kill Shah.
On Friday night,Sagar called up Shah and asked him to meet him in Ravivar Peth. Sagar and Ubhe took Shah to Tajai hillock and assaulted him with sharp weapons.
