Day after she went missing, Pune police trace 10-year-old girl with special needs
The 10-year-old girl had gone missing from her residence in Pune’s Bibwewadi area on Wednesday afternoon.
The police immediately launched a search operation and checked footage from multiple CCTV cameras to trace the girl’s location.
More than 24 hours after a 10-year-old girl with special needs went missing from her residence in Pokale Wasti in Pune’s Bibwewadi area, the police traced her and handed her over to her family on Thursday night, officials said.
R Raja, Deputy Commissioner of Police, confirmed that the girl was found safely in the Kondhwa area on Thursday night.
The girl had gone missing at around 2 pm on Wednesday and her family members had lodged a missing person’s report at the Bibwewadi police station, the police said.
The police immediately launched a search operation and checked footage from multiple CCTV cameras to trace the girl’s location.
Even as the police confirmed that the girl was in the Katraj area, her photograph and details went viral on social media. Following leads obtained during the search operation, the police eventually located her on Thursday night, officials said.
