The Vishrantwadi police have released the sketch of a suspect who allegedly kidnapped,robbed and raped a six-year-old girl at an open Army land in Wadhmukh Wadi on July 7.
Police have booked the unidentified person under Sections 363,364,366 (a),397 (robbery with attempt to cause grievous injuries),376 (rape) of IPC and sections of the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Act. Police said the accused had come to the girls home asking about the address of a person who was staying there earlier. He had also asked for water and spoken to the girl before luring her out on the promise of buying biscuits.
He allegedly took her to the Army land nearby. Police said he stole the girls earrings and later physically assaulted her.
Based on the description given by the family of the victim,a sketch has been released. Police said the suspect speaks Marathi,is around 35 years old and was wearing a blue shirt and trouser.
Senior inspector Sudhakar Kate has appealed to citizens
