Members of gang involved in multiple thefts arrested: Pune police
The minor was taken to an observation home and the other four accused were placed under arrest
So far, police said they have found the accused involved in four vehicle thefts and two house break-ins Pune city police have nabbed five members of the ‘Barkya Toli’ gang allegedly involved in multiple vehicle theft cases.
Of the five accused, one is a minor of age 17 years, while the other four are identified as Prithviraj Avhad (19), Anand Londhe (34), Kuldeep Sonawane (19), all residents of Hadapsar and Aryan Aglawe (19) of Katraj.
Acting on a tip-off, police havaldars Nitin Mundhe and Kanifnath Karkhele, along with a police team nabbed the five accused, following a technical probe by policeman Sameer Pilane.
The minor was taken to an observation home and the other four accused were placed under arrest.
A press release issued on Sunday stated that during investigation four motorcycles along with 129 grams of gold, totaling worth Rs 12.71 lakh, were seized from the accused.
So far, police said they have found the accused involved in four vehicle thefts and two house break-ins. All six offences were registered at different police stations in Pune.
