In a fit of anger,three people travelling in a car assaulted an MBA student from a Wakad-based college,near Mamta Nagar toll naka on Sunday night.
According to the police,Abhishek Kaushalkumar Tiwari (23) and his friend Anurag Singh Chauhan (23) were on their two-wheeler near the toll naka when the accused in their car started shouting at them.
The police said following an altercation the trio overtook their bike and assaulted Tiwari with a bamboo stick lying nearby.
They stole his valuables which included gold chain and cash totalling Rs 24,000, the police said. Road rage is said to be the reason for the altercation. Tiwari has lodged a complaint with the Wakad police.

The suspects Mayur D Parkhi (23),a resident of Wakad,Raju Yashwant Mandekar (35),a resident of Mulshi and Yogesh S Parkhi (20) were produced in the court on Monday and have been remanded to police custody till Thursday. The police are yet to recover cash and ornaments from the accused.
