Shweta Kadam,a city-based student, has scored record marks in the recently-held Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology exam
There have been countless adages and thoughts written down to summarise the fact that success doesnt come by the windfall, and Shweta Kadam a fourth year student of the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology (IIAEIT) proved just the same by becoming the first girl in India to top the exams, with highest marks in the finals of the Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology exam held. Incidentally, her record marks have also ensured that she is a national topper.
Speaking about her achievement, she says,The exam is a national-level one and is one of the toughest. In fact, the pass percentage for the exam is only one or two per cent. However,I knew that if I kept my calm, studied regularly and practiced hard,I would succeed. In order to prepare for my exams I first completed studying the entire syllabus, and then made it a point to revise the notes and seek help on certain topics from my professors. Also,I managed to solve question papers from the previous years, which really helped.
Elaborating, she says,I scored 68.8 per cent in the exams which is a record score. Moreover,in my last year,my major subject was aerodynamics and in order to complete my syllabus,I had to study for two months in Chennai and for six months in Bangalore. So,getting here wasnt exactly an easy job but I knew I would make it and thats the reason why I managed to do it.
