Man falls asleep at bus stop in Pune, has gold chain snatched

The incident took place on Sunday night at around 11.30 pm when the victim, Ashish Patil, was waiting at the stop to board a private bus to Nashik.

A 25-year-old man lost his gold chain worth Rs 54,000 when he dozed off at a PMPML bus stop as he fell prey to bike-borne miscreants who fled with the chain. The incident took place on Sunday night at around 11.30 pm when the victim, Ashish Patil, was waiting at the stop to board a private bus to Nashik.

“The victim works as an assistant manager with a tourism firm and was travelling to Nashik for work. He was waiting at the bus stop when he fell asleep. Two unidentified men approached him on a bike, snatched the chain and fled. Before Patil realised what had happened, they were gone,” said SS Kale, sub-inspector with Shivajinagar Police.
