Mahila Mahotsav enthralls audience

As part of the Pune Festival celebrations,a Mahila Mahotsav was organised at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha on Monday,the fourth day of the festival.

As part of the Pune Festival celebrations,a Mahila Mahotsav was organised at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha on Monday,the fourth day of the festival.

Women of all ages participated in the dance competition that was judges by Savani Antarkar,Sheetal Vadere,Piyusha Patil,Ashivini Temghare and Rupa Soman. From Lavani to foot-tapping Bollywood numbers,the participants aged between 29 and 52 performed a variety of dance sequences on the stage. Apart from dance,the participants also presented items on a variety of themes.

A performance based on female foeticide was appreciated by the audience and judges alike. The event was hosted by Anjali Wagale.

In the evening,the boxing tournament was organised at Arunkumar Vaidya Stadium,the Purshottam Karandak was organised at Balgandharva Rangmandir and Confluence,an instrumental jugalbandi by Nilandri Kumar on the sitar,Taufiq Qureshi on percussion and Vijay Ghate on the tabla was organised at Ganesh Kala Krida Rang Manch in Swargate.
