What the toppers said

Maharashtra HSC Board toppers said that the question papers were easy compared to previous years. They also noticed changes in the paper pattern, which made some subjects easier but some difficult at the same time.

A Commerce student of Modern College, Sushma Mathkari, who scored 95.67 per cent, said, “The mathematics and accountancy questions were very simple, easy and direct. But for English, I feel that the average marks in Pune is lesser compared to other cities.”

Shreedula Sheshadri, a student of Fergusson College who scored 96 per cent said, “It was easy for me as I completed my syllabus earlier and put more emphasis on revision. I used to learn, watch different videos on the same topics and revise them on the same day. I knew I did well and so I scored.”

Shivani Omkarnath of Fergusson College, a Science student who scored 96.7 per cent, said, “I’m proud that all the efforts have paid off. I dedicated eight hours every day to studying, attending practical sessions and consistently revised the topics. I would like to thank my teachers and parents who were always there for me to solve my queries and support me.”

Some science students felt that the physics question paper was different compared to the previous years. Ishwari Daphal of Modern College, who scored 91.5 per cent in Science, said, “Earlier question patterns would be repeated and that is why we referred to previous years’ question papers. But this time, it was a little difficult to understand.” She also felt that the checking was stricter this time.

Sachi Ashok of Modern College said, “I am a very anxious person but with the unwavering support from my friends and family, I was able to achieve 91.17 per cent.” She also mentioned about the change in the pattern of the German paper which had more objective type questions, making it easier for students to score.
