Mahalaxmi temple insures ward boys,ayas,firemen

The Mahalaxmi Temple Trust,Sarasbaug has insured the ward boys and ayas of Sassoon and Tarachand hospitals,PMC firemen,Class IV employees in corporation schools and police constables who are due to retire next year.

The Mahalaxmi Temple Trust,Sarasbaug has insured the ward boys and ayas of Sassoon and Tarachand hospitals,PMC firemen,Class IV employees in corporation schools and police constables who are due to retire next year. The gesture comes as a part of the trust’s silver jubilee celebrations.

MP Suresh Kalmadi gave away the insurance policy certificates to 1,200 persons. They were insured to a sum of Rs.6.5 crore with each getting Rs 50,000 insurance cover.

Present on the occasion were Income Tax Commissioner Narsingappa,State’s Information Commissioner Vijay Kuvalekar,chief trustee of the temple Rajkumar Agarwal,trustee Bharat Agarwal,Pratap Pardesi,Corporator Shiva Mantri,Harishchandra Bhandari and Omprakash Ranka.

“Pune is a global city. Everyone should be equipped with two essential weapons — computer and a knowledge in English language. VIT has given the computer training to almost 200 students from slum areas. It is important to make students,especially from slum areas,computer literate,” Kalmadi said.
