After low earnings from reels, Pune man uploads new movies online to make a quick buck, arrested
DCP Datta Nalawade said a team from south region cyber police nabbed Randhawan from Daund in Pune.
Based on technical investigation, the police found that the domain name for the website had been purchased by Randhawan following which they tracked him down.
The Mumbai Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Pune for allegedly uploading pirated copies of Chhava movie online and allowing downloads for a price. Sagar Randhawan, who is highly educated, earlier used to post social media content. Since it was not helping him earn revenue, he started a website and an app where he would upload latest movies and charge Rs 100 for downloads.

The police had earlier received a complaint from the producers of Chhava movie about pirated versions of their movie being available for downloads on skymovieshd.tech
Based on technical investigation, the police found that the domain name for the website had been purchased by Randhawan following which they tracked him down.
The police found that the accused would earlier post reels and videos on social media platform and monetise them.
However, when he could not make enough money from it, he decided to upload Chhava movie which had become quite popular. The police found that apart from Chhava, the accused had uploaded other new movies as well.
The accused was on Thursday produced before the holiday court and remanded to police custody.
