Several Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and private schools from the city have excelled in the 2013 Class XII CBSE examinations,the results of which were declared online on Monday.
Over 82 per cent students have cleared the examinations at the national level with the overall pass percentage this year standing at 82. Girls continued to fare better with 87.98 per cent passing the exam as compared to 77.78 per cent boys,an official release issued by the CBSE said.
This years results assume significance for students who aspire to make it to the IITs as weightage will be given to the Class XII performance. Accordingly,the cut-off score for the top 20 percentile will be 391 for general category students this year. For OBCs,it will be 389,SCs 350 and STs 338. Rank holders in the JEE Advanced under the new format must be among the top 20 performers for admission to the IITs.
Locally,at KV,Ganeshkhind,82 out of total 85 students who appeared for Commerce and Science have passed the examination. With 93.8 per cent,Nisha Gandhi has topped in Science stream followed by Vipul Dhotre (92.8 pc) and Jerome Alapatt (91.8 pc). In Commerce stream,Shreya Sengupta (88.4 pc),Neelam Parab (85.2 pc) and Ruby Singh (79 pc) are the top scorers.
KV,Range Hills,has registered 96 pc result in Science stream and 89 pc in Commerce. Abhijit Jena (89.2 pc),Shubham Dahat (84.4 pc) and Rosalin Nanda (82 pc) are toppers from the Science stream,while Priyanka Prasad (86.6 pc),Priyanka Karhale (73.4 pc) and Arsheen Shaikh (71.8 pc) are Commerce stream toppers.
At KV,Southern Command,Mayur Dhurpate has topped in Science stream with 95.8 per cent,while the second position has been secured by Vedang Dalal at 95.4 per cent. In Commerce stream,Devlina Mandal and C Ramya have stood first and second with 92.2 per cent and 90 per cent,respectively. Beauty Pramanik has secured the first position in Arts with 77.4 per cent. School principal Joshua Hastings said while the pass percentage in Commerce and Arts was 100 per cent,it was 97.59 per cent in the Science stream.
At KV,CME,Pradeep Desai ranked first in Science stream with 92.4 per cent and Hariom Pandey securing first position in Commerce with 93.4 per cent. While the pass percentage in Science stream is 96 per cent,it is 100 per cent in Commerce.
KV,DIAT Girinagar,from where 30 students appeared for the examination,has registered 96.7 pc result with Reena Gautum and Harshit Shrivastav emerging as toppers.
With 96.6 per cent,Harsh Shah stood first (Science) at Delhi Public School (DPS) and Supriya Toltey has topped in Commerce stream with 97.36 per cent. Principal Neelam Chakraborty said out of 67 students who appeared for exam,36 scored above 90 per cent.
At Army Public School,Khadki,Ashish Kumar Singh has stood first with 96.4 per cent in Science stream. Shruti Shrikhande and Mohini Chauhan have topped in Commerce and Arts,respectively,with 94 per cent and 91 per cent.
From Vikhe Patil Memorial School,Rohit Murthy (97.20 pc),Sanhita Dhamdhere (95.00 pc) and Prachi Kumar (94.40 pc) are toppers in Science stream. In all,48 students out of the total 72 who appeared for the examination have scored above 80 pc.
