The Income Tax Department has awarded Cosmos Bank for paying the highest amount of income tax for the 2008-09 fiscal in the non-cooperative banking sector,Pune region,amounting to Rs 37.23 crore.
Chief Income Tax Commissioner M Narasinhappa presented the award to Krushnakumar Goyal,former chairman and director,Cosmos Bank at a function held at Alpabachat Bhavan,Council Hall,recently,a release said.
The function was organised to mark the Income Tax Day on April 30. V D Parmar,Commissioner,Pune office,and other officials were present. Speaking on the occasion,Goyal praised the banks management. The Chief Income Tax Commissioner was presented a memo to mark the Cosmos Bank centenary completion,the release said.
