Initiative to empower women to report sexual offences launched

The Pune city police and Amnesty International India launched the “Pune Gets Ready to Report” initiative on Monday, which aims at empowering women to report cases of sexual violence with safety and dignity. It also aims to inform people about laws related to sexual offences and clear misconceptions about reporting such incidents.

The police stations of Chaturshringi, Dattawadi and Faraskhana, and the women cell of Yerwada police station in Pune police commissionerate would be a part of this initiative. Joint commissioner of police Sunil Ramanand launched the initiative at Chaturshringi police station on Monday in the presence of police officials, Amnesty International India team and some college students.
