Delhi based designer Pia Pauro,who showcased her work at the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week is bringing her collection to town. Hosted by Studio Rudrakash in Aundh the designer’s Shamal collection will be on display. The Pia Pauro Label is nomadic bohemian,sourcing its inspiration from the journey of Ibn Batuta,one of the greatest travelers.Pia has focused on Batuta’s expeditions – which covered Morocco,Mamluk Empire,the Arabian Peninsula,all the way to the Byzantine Empire. The aesthetics of this collection come from Middle Eastern architecture,art,culture,and music – all influenced by Batuta’s life,which have translated into beautiful prints. The embroideries are hand made using different techniques.The colours used include bursts of neon’s merged with electric blues,indigo blues,oranges,naturals,and pinks. The prints have been created on jerseys,chiffons,georgettes,cotton,and silk. The range includes sundresses,tunics,swimwear,beach bags,hand made accessories,kaftans,saris,and evening wear. The work will be on display on April 12 between 11 am to 4 pm. gg
