Global yoga experiment
A simple global experiment involving people from all over the globe is proposed to be held on September 20,which will not only validate this fact but will also result in many astonishing personal experiences. It is not going to cost the participants anything. In this yoga rooted experiment,participants are to only follow the simple steps as mentioned below: On September 20,from 6.28 am to 6.49 am,wherever you are,follow these simple steps,says Anand Kulkarni,Coordinator,L.T.S.M. Mahayoga Trust:- Sit in any comfortable position. Relax the body to the maximum,as if the body is not there. Close the eyes calmly,with deep devotion to Almighty. As soon as eyes are closed,a wave of Prana Shakti,the life current will rise up and up from the base of the backbone to the top of the brain. Allow automatic breathing to take place. Keeping eyes closed,simply follow the automatic incoming and outgoing of air. By simply following the automatic breathing,the mind soon merges into its higher aspect,Prana,paving the way to self purification.

Oral health awareness campaign
The world’s number one sugar-free chewing gum brand,Wrigley’s Orbit,has partnered with the fashion industry at the first ever Van Heusen Mens Week to send out strong oral care messages on World Oral Health Day. Oral health pledges were signed by fashion fraternity veterans like JJ Valaya and Sunil Sethi along with Lt. Gen. Dr. Paramjit Singh,president,Indian Dental Association (IDA),Dr Ashok Dhoble,secretary general IDA and Himanshu Khanna,director of marketing,Wrigley India. The campaign,rolled out for the World Oral Health Day,will raise awareness about good oral hygiene habits and equip them with oral health tips and dental checkups. Orbit sugar-free chewing gum in collaboration with IDA has partnered with 60 dentists from all over the country to conduct free oral check-ups to mark World Oral Health Day today.

Free camp for diabetics
National Acupuncture Organisation is arranging a treatment camp on diabetes in the city on September 16-18. The camp will held at Hotel Suyash,Navi Peth. Acupuncture diabetologist Dr. Jay Kumar Diksshit will treat and guide to patients. Hours of operation of the camp will be from 11 am to 8 pm.

Emergency medical services
The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) is hosting the 2nd National Seminar on Emergency Medical Services on September 20 at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan,S B Road,Pune. Gen. N C Vij,vice-chairman,NDMA,Delhi will be inaugurating the seminar. The Inaugural session will be followed by a panel discussion on ‘MISSION EMS – The Road Ahead’. As a prelude to the national seminar,the SIHS will also be conducting two AHA workshops viz. PEARS and ECG & Pharmacology,a basic workshop in association with the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Mass Casualty Incidence Drill to raise awareness about the common man’s role in case of a disaster involving mass casualties.

Self esteem session
A free introductory session on topics such as healing of emotional and physical ailments,stress related concerns ranging from physical imbalances,anxiety and depression,overcoming fear patterns,self limiting habits and coping with phobias,chronic pains,stress related migraines,low self esteem,feelings of inadequacy and learning disabilities including dyslexia will be conducted at Pluto Society,H-4 / 1AB,opposite Big Bazaar,Kalyaninagar on September 18,5.30 pm.
