Harsheel Dani got Gulls off to a swift start,defeating Sudhanshu Medshikar in just 15 minutes in the first mens singles,winning 21-15,21-13. Fresh from brushing aside the leagues most expensive female player,Tanvi Lad,in Gulls 4-1 win over Sensational Skylarks on Sunday,Arundhati Pantawane made it 2-0 with another confident victory in the womens singles,beating Sayali Gokhale 21-17,21-17. Nishad Dravid and Shlok Ramachandran were just as ruthless in the mens doubles,beating Abhindya Sawant and Tom Thomas 21-11,21-16. With the tie already lost,Falcons notched up face-saving wins in the two remaining rubbers. Yashodhan Marathe downed Manan Goenka 21-9,21-13 in the second mens
singles,while Ameya Joshi and Gauri Ghate prevailed over Nachiket Dhaygude and Riya Pillai in the mixed doubles,with a score of 22-20,21-15. This was Falcons first defeat of the tournament. On the opening day,they had beaten Lifetime Linnets 4-1.
