Group at collector’s office issuing fake certificates: Joshi

City MLC Mohan Joshi on Saturday alleged that there is a group operating in district collector’s office which is issuing bogus certificates to citizens. Joshi said Bundgarden Police had detained two agents some time ago for inquiry into the matter and they had confessed to indulging in illegal practice.

“The revenue department has not filed any complaints so far,making it difficult for police to take any action against the culprits,” said Joshi. Joshi said though the revenue department had changed the agency responsible for issuing certificates,the staff employed by the new agency is the same and hence the practise of issuing bogus certificates continues unabated. “The cheating at collector’s office has been continuing for the past two years,” he said.
