Situated ideally on the ever-busy MG Road, the Golden Lounge Bakery and Café’s bright yellow coloured interiors instantly brighten up the mood. Located below the counter are an array of sandwiches, rolls, pastries and pizzas, which are a treat for both the eyes and the palate.

“We wanted to have a snack joint that was clean, efficient and offered fast-moving snacks. At the same time,we wanted to maintain quality,” says Furquan Ansari, owner.

Since the cafe offers snacks to those constantly on the go,one could try the various sandwiches on sale here. For veggies, there are cheese, tomato and cheese and club sandwich options to choose from; non-vegetarians can pick chicken mayonnaise, salami or tandoori sandwiches. The vegetarian ones are priced between Rs 15 and 25 and the non-veg ones range from Rs 25-30.

There’s a wide array of pizzas too, that this cafe has to offer. Says head chef Naseer Ansari,“When we started the joint here,we wanted it to be a one-stop shop for all types of fast food. We have made it a point to ensure that it is delicious yet affordable.”

For a price tag of Rs 55-65,one can try out a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas. Some of the recommendations here include the mixed vegetable pizza, cheese pizza and mushroom pizza. A must try here, however,is the chicken pizza, which for Rs 60,is a steal.

Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed here either. “We have traditional pastries like the Chocolate Chips Pastry and the Black Forest for Rs 35,and also our own variations like the White Forest, the Kiwi Pastry, and the Blue Berry pastry for Rs 45,” informs Ansari.

A must-try here is the Chocolate Truffle Pastry at Rs 45 per piece; the triangular pastry will appease the palate of even the harshest food critics.

On the whole, the place offers good options for those looking to snack on the run. In addition to the snacks mentioned, there’s a wide array of biscuits, soufflés,muffins, croissants and doughnuts here. Head here to fill up before a long stroll on M G Road, ahead of your weekend shopping spree.
