Gold theft in public transport buses

An unidentified person stole gold ornaments worth Rs 1.38 lakh from the bag of a woman travelling in a public transport bus on Friday morning.

An unidentified person stole gold ornaments worth Rs 1.38 lakh from the bag of a woman travelling in a public transport bus on Friday morning. The woman,Aparna Rajendra Kulkarni (32),a resident of Saibaba apartment,Chinchwad,lodged a complaint with the Chinchwad police.

Police said that Aparna,along with her mother-in-law and children was going to a bank to deposit her ornaments in the locker.

The incident took place between 10.15 am and 1.30 am while she was travelling from Kamat Hospital bus stop to Elpro bus stop in Chinchwad.

In a separate incident,unidentified persons stole cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.24 lakh from the bag of a passenger in a PMPML bus on Wednesday. The woman,Vimal Suryabhan Jadhav (49),lodged a complaint with the Vishrambag police.

Police said Jadhav was travelling from Katraj to Shivajinagar in a PMPML bus,when unidentified persons stole cash and ornaments from her bag between 4 pm and 5 pm on Wednesday.
