Girl died last month,accused booked for abduction,rape after mother complains
A 15-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped last year by a 20-year-old labourer who forced her to marry him died during delivery last month.
Police booked the labourer after the girls mother,also a labourer filed a complaint at Chatushrungi police station. As per the complaint,the girl and Vicky Rajeshwar Devkar from Solapur had met in August last year at a construction site in Pashan where the girls mother also worked.
Sub inspector PN Bahure of Chatushrungi police station said,The mother said Devkar kidnapped her and forced her to marry him. He then took her to Solapur where they stayed in the slum for some time. When the girl got pregnant,Devkar called her parents to Solapur and asked them to take her back.About four months ago,when her parents arrived at Solapur to bring their daughter back,Devkar allegedly beat them and threatened to kill them. Bahure said,On May 24,the girl gave birth to a stillborn and died due to complications minutes later at her parents house.
Devkar was booked under IPC sections 376 (rape),366 (kidnapping woman to compel marriage),323 (voluntarily causing hurt ),504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace ),506 (criminal intimidation). His mother and aunt have also been booked in the case.
