The Pune police have detained a few persons over suspicion but are yet to arrest anyone in connection with the murder of dreaded gangster Parshuram alias Parsha alias Aba Pandurang Jadhav (39), who was shot dead by a gang of about 10 persons at an isolated spot on a hill slope in Gujar – Nimbalkarwadi near Katraj on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, police have identified a man, Bala Choudhary, as one of the key conspirators in this case. Police teams have been dispatched in search of Choudhary, who is known to be a member of the notorious Appa Londhe gang.

Jadhav was closely associated with the dreaded Baba Bodke gang. He was known to be a “shooter” of the Baba Bodke gang. But, according to police sources, they had now parted ways and he was more involved in real estate deals.

Police source said there have been no major rivalry and killings reported earlier between the Appa Londhe and Baba Bodke gangs.
However, police were investigating whether disputes in land dealings led to a rivalry between Choudhary and Jadhav.

Police said that Choudhary and his nine aides murdered Jadhav with a proper plan, following some past rivalry or land dispute. They called Jadhav to an isolated spot in Gujar – Nimbalkarwadi area around 6.30 pm on the pretext of a land deal. But, on reaching the spot, they opened fire on Jadhav with their pistols, causing his death on the spot.

Jadhav had gone to the spot along with his aide Sanjay Nivrutti More (43) and driver. After killing Jadhav, the assailants had reportedly snatched More’s cell phone at gun point before leaving the place. More later managed to inform Jadhav’s family and police about the shootout.
