To pay tribute to the five martyrs of the Indian Army who were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) by alleged Pakistani soldiers,Shri Datta Samaj Tarun Mandal, based in Pune Camp, has planned to create a replica of the National War memorial,Ghorpadi. The photographs of the five martyrs will also be displayed.

Pravin Jadhav, from the mandal, said,“The decoration is likely to include a four-feet column such as the one at National War Memorial. We plan to distribute pamphlets about the sacrifices our jawans have been making along the LoC.”

Explaining the motive behind the concept,Jadhav said,“This to pay tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives while guarding the nation. We felt it is inappropriate to celebrate festivals when soldiers are losing their lives. These soldiers, away from their families, ensure our safety.”

Jadhav said that the mandal has been taking initiatives to create social awareness and to spread a message of peace and harmony.
