Free camp at Katraj Zoo to mark International Biodiversity Day

Enthusiasts now have an opportunity to learn various aspects of zoo management and enrich their knowledge on various biodiversity topics and its components like birds,reptiles and mammals.

PMC’s Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park and Wildlife Research Centre at Katraj,is organising a three-day camp,on the occasion of International Biodiversity Day,beginning

May 22.

Individuals from the age group of 15-25 can take part in the camp,which will be free of cost.

“This summer camp will help in disseminating information on preservation of precious biodiversity and changing mindsets of the students,those are the citizens of the future. Zoo has always shown interest in organising events to spread awareness among the society on environment protection,” an education officer at Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park,Ashwini Shitole said.

“Hands-on-training on making of plaster casts and identification of pug marks,bird watching,and practical on nursery development,identification of various plant species,fun games and other exciting activities would be an added attraction of the camp,” Shitole added.
