Former chief of MANS unit found dead at his Chinchwad residence

Former chief of Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Chinchwad on Tuesday morning

Former chief of Pimpri-Chinchwad unit of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Chinchwad on Tuesday morning.

Police have identified the victim as Jawahar Kantilal Shah (67),a resident of Morya Park near Amrapali Gas Agency in Chinchwad. Police said Shah had left a suicide note saying he was taking the extreme step due to his illness.

He was reportedly suffering from cancer.

Police said Shah was alone at his residence in the morning while his wife had gone to a temple.

When she returned around 11 am,she found his body hanging from a ceiling fan in his room. Police said he had retired as principal of a local school and was active in social activities from quite some time .
