Kaustubh Radkar,a well known swimmer from the city recently completed world triathlon championship held at Lake Placid,New York in the US for the third successive year to win the Iron Man award.
Around 3,500 competitors from across the world participated in the competition that is known as the toughest to even complete. Kaustubh became the first Indian to complete it for the third successive year. He completed the competition in 11 hours and 21 minutes.
The competitors have to cover a total distance of 140.6 miles in this competition in three categories swimming,running and cycling.
Kasutubh completed 2.4 miles of swimming competition in 49 minutes and 13 seconds. He completed 112 miles of cycling in 6 hours and 25 minutes and ran the distance of 26.2 miles in 3 hours,57 minutes and 39 seconds.
Kaustubh is presently pursuing an MBA in healthcare management of sports medicine stream at Baltimore in the US. He also holds a degree in physical education from Indiana University.
