FIR lodged after Pune bungalow’s compound wall demolished

The Pune city police booked four persons for forcefully demolishing the compound wall of a bungalow at TMV Colony in Gultekdi, on Friday morning.

An 80-year-old resident of the bungalow in TMV Colony lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at Swargate police station. As stated in the FIR, the incident took place around 11.30 am.

Police said the four accused include a man who is known to have purchased the bungalow, a private contractor and an excavator machine operator.

Police sub inspector Smita Patil, the investigating officer in this case, said, “An accused in this case purchased the bungalow from the complainant. But the complainant had not vacated the bungalow. This led to a dispute between the two parties, which is pending before the court.”

“When the complainant, his son and daughter had come to the police station on Friday morning to record their statements in connection with the dispute, the accused persons, without giving any prior notice, tried to take forceful possession of their bungalow by demolishing its compound wall and gate,” Patil said.

After receiving information about the incident, Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Pune city police, initiated action against the accused persons for trying to forcefully take possession of the bungalow, at a time when the dispute regarding it was pending in the court.

Police booked the four accused persons under sections 329 (4), 324 (4), 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said a probe was on and no accused were arrested in this case. Meanwhile, an accused deployed labourers for reconstruction of the bungalow’s compound wall in the evening, police said.
