The Courtyard by Marriott City Centre will have a special Holi lunch buffet at Momo Cafe today. It will comprise special drinks such as thandai and dishes such as Narangi murgh tikka and Hare mutter aur kaju ki tikki,Murgh makhani,Makai palak,Zafrani paneer and Mirch ka salan,among others. Those with a sweet tooth can try gujjia,mewar,puran poli and anguri rasmalai. It will be open from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
An adaptation of Mahesh Dattanis Sahitya Akademi-winning play Final Solutions was presented by the students of Nowrosjee Wadia Colleges English department. The play,which is based on communal tension and stereotypical prejudices that all communities carry,was staged at Bharat Natya Mandir. Students and professors from various colleges in the city attended the play.
Juggling his unhappy marriage with an obese girl and a love story that blossoms outside the marriage,form the crucial elements of Marathi movie Navra Majha Bhavra. Slated to release on March 29,the film tells the story of Baburao,a reporter (played by Nilesh Sable),and the problems he encounters. Producer Govardhan Bhagat says the film also has 16 Marathi female actors performing in a song. Its lyrics include names of 40 famous Marathi movies.
Winner of MasterChef India (Season 2),Shipra Khanna came calling to the city for Shehar ka MasterChef on Sunday. Thirty Puneites,selected after a written test,participated in the live competition. They had to identify all the ingredients used in a certain dish and five winners were selected for the next round,which entailed cooking. Seema Shinde was declared the winner for her Puneri Bhel. Khanna said that after winning the show,she has been juggling between hosting events,workshops and running her restaurant in Delhi. Sharing the key to a great dish,she said chefs have to be creative especially in fusion dishes.
