Family of 4 receives critical burn injuries in early morning fire in Pune’s Mohammadwadi; probe underway

According to the Pune police, the couple has sustained very severe injuries, and their two children have sustained close to 40 per cent burns.

Four members of a family, including two children, sustained critical burn injuries in a fire that started in their house in the Mohammadwadi area of Pune in the early hours of Wednesday. A probe has been launched into the exact cause of the accident, according to the Pune police.

The fire took place around 4.30 am in a flat on the second floor of a building in Sai Colony in Wadkar Mala area of Mohammadwadi. The injured have been identified as Tekchansingh Chauhan, 48, his wife Bebi, 42, daughter Kashish, 19, and son Nilesh, 15. All are currently being treated at Sassoon General Hospital for their serious burn injuries.
