Exotic fish,birds draw crowd to expo

‘Exotic Fish and Bird Expo - Pune’,an exhibition of rare birds and fishes was inaugurated on Friday by Ankush Kakde,chairman,MHADA,MLA Makrand Patil along with kids from Mamta Foundation,working for HIV patients.

‘Exotic Fish and Bird Expo – Pune’,an exhibition of rare birds and fishes was inaugurated on Friday by Ankush Kakde,chairman,MHADA,MLA Makrand Patil along with kids from Mamta Foundation,working for HIV patients. The event was organised by e-PAWS (Exotic Pets & Animals Welfare Society),near Mhatre Bridge in Eradawane.

Kids along with their thronged the venue from morning. The excitement among kids were such that they were not ready to leave the venue. More than 3,000 people visited the exhibition on the first day. Many were seen taking pictures with Macaw,other birds and lobsters. The jelly fish,fresh water sting ray and Macaw were the favourites of the kids. The elders were also seen engaged in the visual treat.

“We have made elaborate arrangements for the animals and birds. Keeping the heat in mind,fogging system has been set up to keep the temperature conducive inside the enclosed area of 15,000 Sq. Ft. Various orphanages will be invited in the expo”,said Vinayak Raskar,Trustee E-PWAS.

An array of exotic water creatures like Jelly Fish,Arowana,Asian Arowana,Alligator Gar,Black Ghost,Sting Ray,African Cichids,Doctor fish,Clown,Damsel,Angels,Shrimps,Invertebrates,Lionfish,sting ray are on display. The birds include Blue-Gold Macaw,Green wing Macaw,Scarlet Macaw,Silver Pheasants,Golden Pheasants,different varieties of lories and conures.
