The Crime Branch of the city police have summoned about 275 persons with criminal background and have also issued warnings against them under criminal procedure code. In the last one week,police have also carried out combing operations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Bansode said,Officers from the anti-organised crime cell from both North and South zones of the city have till now reported about 275 on-record criminals. All of them have been issued warnings under Section 149 (police to prevent congnizable offenses) of the Criminal Procedure Code. We will be keeping a close watch on these people who have one or more body offences registered against them.
To keep a check on the activities of the criminals,police have carried out combing operation in many parts of the city. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vinod Satav said,Combing operation was carried out under various police stations. We have taken written assurances from criminals on record about their good behaviour. Our teams will also keep a watch on people who accompany them.
Police have urged people to contact them through control room if any illegal activity comes to their notice .

We urge people to get in touch if candidates or people who accompany them are seen flouting law by terrorising people or using illegal ways to woo them, said Satav.
Senior inspector Bhimrao Tele of Khadki police station said,We,along with crime branch officers carried out combing operations in notorious slum areas in and around Khadki. We have taken preventive actions against about 15 on record criminals under jurisdiction of the police station under CrPC sections.
