The Muslim Welfare Education Society will felicitate around 20 persons – teachers,musicians,dramatists and sportspersons and so on – who have made considerable contributions to their respective fields.
Among those to be felicitated are Aneesa Sayed,gold medalist,commonwealth games 2010,Mujeeb Khan,director of plays as well as Ustad Fayyaz Hussain Khan who was conferred with the Bal Gandharva Sangeet Award this year.
These prominent people will be felicitated on the night of the premier of a play Mirza Ghalib ki Haweli. The play,which has been written by Mushtaque Qazi and directed by Mujeeb Khan,will aim at bringing to the limelight an untouched part of the poets life. The role of Ghalib will be played by Ibrahim Ashq,well known lyricist-turned actor.
Speaking about the event,Khan said,Through this play,we aim to engage not only the Urdu speaking audience but also the Marathi and Hindi speaking public. Ashq said,The play will showcase a personified form of Mirza Ghalib’s haveli and will talk about the problems faced by it while Ghalib was alive as well as after his death. The beauty of the play lies in the fact that ghazals of Ghalib will be presented in the classical dance form.
The achievers will be felicitated during the interval of the play. Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal will be present. The play will premier on November 3 at Bal Gandharva Rang mandir.
