Prashant Bhushan,advocate and social activist,will be in town on April 7. He is scheduled to deliver a lecture on “Role of citizens and professionals in law making” at the Prashant Bhushan,at 6 pm. The programme is being organised by the Pune West Study Circle of ICAI and aims at enlightening professionals about their role in legislation drafting.

wins campus quiz

PUNE: Sachin Ravi and Raghav Chakravarthy of Symbiosis Law College won the regional round of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2012 held at the Balaji Institute of Management. The duo made it to the finals that will be held in Mumbai on April 8. Chief guest Col. Balasubramaniam felicitated the winners with a cash prize of Rs 75,000. The winning team from Pune will now compete with winners from 23 other cities.

IBM India announces partnership with CoEP

PUNE: IBM India announced partnership with the College of Engineering,Pune (CoEP),to create awareness among students and entrepreneurs on the importance of intellectual property and patents. As a part of the partnership,IBM India university relations will enable the faculty of CoEP,via special lectures and a customised faculty programme to deliver an educational module that emphasises the need to protect intellectual property and means to registering it. The module is meant for the students of CoEP and is a part of their curriculum in the MTech course.

FLAME school invited to perform at Colombo fest

PUNE: FLAME School of Performing Arts has been invited to participate and perform at the Colombo International Theatre Festival (CITF),Sri Lanka. CITF is the first ever international theatre festival in Sri Lanka. The festival will also feature plays from Germany,Iran,Indonesia,Australia,Pakistan and Sri Lanka . Students from FLAME will present two shows of its play,‘Dangalnama’ this week. Professor Prasad Vanarase,Dean,will also conduct a workshop,“The Phakama Way” for the performers from other countries in the festival.
