The implementation of the e-Chavadi scheme, under which computerised land holding certificates will be provided to citizens, will finally start in all the 13 talukas of Pune district from December 1. Though the scheme was announced about a year ago,it is only partially functional in Haveli and Mulshi talukas.
As part of the scheme,Settlement Commissioner Chandrakant Dalvi conducted a day-long seminar for selected tehsildars, circle officers and talathis from across the state at Balewadi stadium on Friday. Officials said the data entry of the land records was on and it will be completed by the end of this month.
Officials said the implementation of the scheme will not only streamline the process of issuance of land holding certificates but will also improve the data keeping system of the revenue department.
Under the scheme, talathis will be able to provide computerised 7/12 extracts and will be able to maintain and access data on land-revenue transactions, statistical data about land reservation, revenue collection, and payment of revenue fees by citizens in their respective jurisdictions. Once the data entry is completed, issuing a 7/12 extract will be a matter of a few minutes, said an official.
Officers said about two dozen personnel are working in two shifts to complete the data entry of the land records by November-end.
