‘Dreams of kar sevaks to come true with temple inauguration’: MNS Chief
The MNS chief announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for gram panchayats for keeping areas under its jurisdiction clean.

”More than the Ram temple, I think the most important thing is that the efforts the ‘kar sevaks’ made and the dream they saw will finally be realized,” said Thackeray while addressing sarpanches, gram panchayat members, besides MNS office-bearers and workers at a rally at Ganesh Kala Rangmanch in Pune on Saturday.
For the sake of those ‘kar sevaks’, Thackeray urged the MNS rank and file to do whatever good is possible from their end. ”For the sake of those ‘kar sevaks,’ do ‘aartis’ or whatever good you can to mark the occasion,” he said.
Emphasising on cleanliness, the MNS chief urged his party workers to pay serious attention to keep villages clean and free from garbage. ”In the coming days, there will be more focus on gram panchayats. We should ensure that the areas under gram panchayats remain clean,” he said.
The MNS chief said, during his school days, he had heard about the most ”corrupt” gram panchayat and that the same gram panchayat featured in Ram Sippy’s movie Sholay. ”The ”Thakur” in the movie had no electricity at his home in Ramgad but that same village had a towering water tank,” he said.
Stating that the MNS had made a 16-minute documentary highlighting the importance of cleanliness, the MNS chief said, “The documentary…highlighted the fact that to keep an area around us clean, we don’t need money but what we need is will power. The more you keep your area clean, the more your area will remain free of diseases. We should feel good when we live in a clean village. We should feel like living in the village. I have seen such villages in foreign nations as well in our country.”
The MNS chief announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for gram panchayats for keeping areas under its jurisdiction clean.
“Any gram panchayat which is under the control of MNS and keeps the area under its jurisdiction clean and garbage-free will be given a reward of Rs 5 lakh cash…I will visit the village and hand over the funds…Whatever is possible from your end, you should do it to keep your village clean,” he said.
