Among others, Beed MP Bajrang Sonawane, BJP MLC Pankaja Munde, BJP MLAs Suresh Dhas and Namita Mundada, MLAs Vijaysingh Pandit and Prakash Solunkhe were among scores of political leaders present at the function organised in Ashti area of Beed district.

NCP Minister Dhananjay Munde, who is at the centre of controversy after the sarpanch’s murder case, was not present at the function. He has undergone an eye surgery.
“I have undergone a minor surgery on my eye at Dr T P Lahane’s private hospital in Mumbai. The doctor has advised me to take care and rest for the next four to five days. I will be back in my office from Monday,” Munde posted on X.
Inaugurating the storage tank, the Chief Minister praised party MLA Suresh Dhas, who has been leading the protest demanding capital punishment for killers of the Beed sarpanch. “When Suresh Dhas pursues a matter, he pursues it till the end,” he said.
“The Kuntephal project was given the green signal by our government in 2022. We sanctioned Rs 11,000 crore for it…because if Suresh Dhas pursues a matter, then he will eat your head…I might be using the wrong the word, but it is a fact that because of him the project work gained speed. We are going to bring water to Ashti and Dharashiv district on a big scale. The drought here will become a thing of the past,” the Chief Minister said.
In his address, Dhas said, “The hard stand taken by the Chief Minister in the sarpanch murder case has drawn praise from the people of Beed. The people believe in the Chief Minister who said his government will not spare the killers.”
