Anthony Coutinho of Mumbai won the 400m event (boys under-20) at the sub-junior athletics meet organised by Maharashtra Athletics Association. Coutinho logged
a time of 50.1 seconds to secure the gold medal. Sibin George of Thane and Abhijit Shirke of Pune won
the silver and bronze medals,respectively.
In the 800m event,Nagpurs Dinkar Vasave was crowned the winner with a time of 1.59.2 seconds,followed by Abhijit Shirke and Vikram Shinde. In the shot put event,Kirtikumar Benkes 15.36m throw was enough to clinch the gold medal. Aniket Vyavhare from Nagpur won silver,while Thanes Omkar More took home bronze.
In the discus throw event,Hariram Dunmar of Pune won gold,followed by Avdhut Mote and Tejas Dongre,who bagged silver and bronze,respectively. Abhijit Pawar won the gold medal in the 110m hurdles event with Hemant Nagada finishing second and Swapnil Gaund third.
In the under-20 girls category,Arundhati Karnath of Thane won the 100m dash with a time of 13.3 seconds. Sneha Kole and Swati Tayde came second and third,respectively. The 400m run was won by Archana Adhav from Pune. Sunita Jadhav of Satara and Shridevi Mehetre of Solapur won the silver and bronze medals,respectively. The long jump event saw Kajal Sonawane of Jalgaon leap 4.50m to seal the gold. Krutika Lad finished second,while Deepali Lad won the bronze medal in the event.
